iPad Pro M5: a second camera to end your ordeal

Apple is revisiting a design choice made for the 2024 iPad Pro.

The iPad Pro with M4 chip was expected to hit the market in spring 2024. The device supports Apple Intelligence well thanks to its super-powerful chip. "  The powerful GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing delivers game-changing graphics. And the M4's Neural Engine makes iPad Pro a true AI champion,  " Apple rejoices.

The iPad Pro M4 also features a completely new design compared to its predecessor. It's much thinner and features an OLED display. Additionally, the front-facing camera and Face ID are positioned on the right edge of the screen. Face ID setup must be done in landscape mode. The problem is that easy recognition suffered from some glitches in portrait mode . The iPad Pro M5 could correct this problem.

Apple will listen to criticism and put two cameras on the iPad Pro M5

Once again, we must rely on Mark Gurman's information to learn more about a future Apple product. This time, the Bloomberg journalist is talking about the iPad Pro M5, expected this year. The touchscreen tablet is expected to see an evolution compared to the previous model. We could also call this a backpedal on Apple's part.

The iPad Pro M5 is said to feature dual front-facing cameras to accommodate both portrait and landscape users. The reintegration of a camera on the vertical edge should avoid the issues consumers experienced with the iPad Pro M4 and its single camera on the horizontal edge.

This should be one of the only significant innovations (if you can call it that) in the iPad Pro M5, which will be released later this year. The new M5 chip is not expected to be much more powerful than the M4 chip , and this new tablet is expected to retain a very similar appearance to the previous model. The C2 chip for 5G is reportedly expected to be integrated into the iPad Pro in 2027.
